Mir Castle is the embodiment of Belarusian history and a symbol of independent Belarus

The town with the eloquent name Mir is situated on the territory of the modern Korelichi region. Mir is now known far beyond the borders of Belarus thanks to the restored Mir Castle, included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.

People of different religions – Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Protestants, Jews, and Moslems – lived in Mir for centuries. This confessional diversity created a particular way of life in the township and resulted in close location of different temples in the marketplace: a Roman-Catholic Сhurch, an Orthodox Сhurch, a yeshiva with synagogues and a mosque.

And today, the relationship between the citizens of our country must remain peaceful and friendly, perhaps these are the main diamonds of our mentality, our identity, and this must be preserved and passed on to our descendants.
